First update at the infamous 3y0m threshold on EX8. As I expected, this score actually goes up a little, whereas EQ8 and TU8 have seen some dramatic drops at the AoOA 3y0m threshold. (My own TU8 dropped 22 points at this threshold, but I had 4 open bankcards compared to this file with a single card.) We'll get the BofA TU8 update around the 23rd. (Last month was at an optimized 4.0% util. That 790 score was the previous high score for this file. This month's BofA statement closing hasn't happened yet, so nothing on file has changed but the age.)

Does scorecard reassignment not happen at AoOA of 36 months on EX8?

Does scorecard reassignment not happen at AoOA of 36 months on EX8?

I got +2 on EX8 at 3y0m, with 4 open cards and a closed loan. She got +5 with a single open card. I think the reassignment happens, but their customized version of 8 just doesn't consider it as bad as EQ/TU8. This might have something to do with number of accounts and/or bankcards on file.

Interesting. I hadn't heard about this with EX. It doesn't sound like it's "bad" at all and is actually good from a scoring standpoint. Don't most usually report around 30 points drops for scorecard assignment (TU/EQ)?

This is the first AoOA 3y0m change I've seen with less than 4 accounts. Now we have to wait a few weeks for the free BofA TU8 update.

That's all for EX8 this month, I think. Just the change at AoOA 3y0m. There shouldn't be any score change with only $20 reporting today compared to $60 reporting last month. It's all between 1% and 4% anyway.

Here's the TU8 update at the infamous 3y0m threshold. NOTHING HAPPENED! So now it's confirmed that single card profiles are exempt from a loss at 3y0m on EX8 and TU8. ($20 reporting this month compared to $60 last month - a 4% to 1% change which we already know isn't expected to cause any score change.)

3 years and 1 month update, with same $20 utilization as last month. VS3 age is 3y0m, and there may have been a slight bump there at this threshold. I wasn't tracking VS3 every month like I was with TU8. Something made it go up +4 points, but it may have been crossing the 5% util threshold that did it. (Compared to several months ago when util was above 5%.)

Like if 4 credit cards were opened instead of 1 back 3 years ago (hypothetically) do you believe a score change would have been realized at AoOA of 3 years?

I think the scorecard changes, but on the new one there just isn't the same penalty with 1 card vs 4 or more. I think it all has to do with the number of accounts. Needs more data points, of course.

Hi there @Cassie ! I just wanted to know if you happened to have another data point with that utilization variable (4% vs 5%) removed from the equation by chance? Also when you get an opportunity maybe you can update your edits on the original post? Thank you for the continued data on this case study. I've found it super helpful and reference it often to those that say things like "You can't get near an 800 Fico score without 7-10 years of credit history."
